This build is focused on Blood skills and big AoE (Area of Effect) damage. The Blood Necromancer is capable of easily clearing the entire Fractured Peaks content and beyond. In this build guide, we will go over the mechanics, skills, talents, and playstyle!
Blood Surge will draw blood from enemies to deal damage, and then expel a blood nova that will cause even more destruction upon enemies.
Blood Surge‘s nova damage is increased depending on how many enemies are drained. Furthermore,
Enhanced Blood Surge will also heal the Necromancer everytime blood is drawn from an enemy, making this a more tanky build.

Playstyle
Blood Necromancers will spam Hemorrhage, in order to do damage and form Blood Orbs, which can then be picked up to generate more Essence.
Blood Surge will be the main AoE skill, while
Blood Mist will help with incoming damage and will make the Necromancer immune for a few seconds. Through the use of
Sever, enemies can become Vulnerable, with the benefit of additional single target damage.
Skeletal Minions should be kept up at all times as well ( Summoning Skill ), even if they are not the main focus of this build. During leveling, their company is worth more than the passive bonus Necromancers would gain from their sacrifice.
Damage Rotation
Hemorrhage followed by
Blood Surge for AoE damage.
Blood Mist if in danger, to briefly disappear and get immunity.
- Use
Sever to boost single target damage, and if necessary, re-summon a few Skeletal minions to make use of available Corpses.
- Lastly, continue to spam
Blood Surge as soon as enough Essence has been regenerated.
Resource Generator Rotation
- Spam
Hemorrhage to generate Essence.
- Pick up Blood Orbs to regenerate even more Essence.
Book of the Dead
The Book of the Dead (Specialization of the Necromancer that will unlock at Level 5) gives bonuses to minions or sacrifices them for bonuses to the player. The Blood Necromancer build does not prioritize minion damage, but Skeletal Warrior Reapers with the second node for increased damage and corpse formation are a good choice, along with Cold Mages for Essence regeneration.
Codex of Power
The Blood-bathed Aspect can be unlocked in the Codex of Power or by having the respective Legendary item drop. Visit the Occultist to imprint this aspect onto an item to gain an echo (second wave) of Blood Surge‘s nova again after a short delay, dealing reduced damage than the original cast. Can be imprinted on Gloves, Rings, Amulet, One-Handed Weapons, and Two-Handed Weapons. An amulet is a good choice for imprinting Aspects since the effects gain +50% bonus.
